Michael A. Cox began pastoral ministry in 1984 and has been Senior Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Pryor, Oklahoma, since 2008. He has also served as an Adjunct Professor of Evangelism for Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary’s Tulsa extension and as a Doctor of Ministry Field Supervisor for Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is a graduate of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in New Orleans, Louisiana, earning an Associate of Divinity in Pastoral Ministry degree, of Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religious Studies, and of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, where he earned both Master of Divinity with Biblical Languages and Doctor of Ministry in Pastoral Care degrees, with an emphasis in his doctoral work on biblical hermeneutics, especially as applied to New Testament interpretation, ethics, and Christian apologetics. He is the author of one book, Not One Little Child: A Biblical Critique of Calvinism. He has been married to his wife, Joyce, since 1977 and they have two grown sons and five grandchildren.
